Sad News

Scholes are mourning the death of their long-serving club member John Mitchell.

John joined the club initially as a second team player in the 1970s. He went on to captain the side for 20 years during which time they enjoyed great success and won the Central Yorkshire League's Wheatley Cup and second teams championship in successive seasons.

He served the club in many roles, second team umpire, committee man and club secretary. John, who was 73 leaves a wife Margaret, and children Michael and Julie.

John's funeral was very well attended on Friday 24th March.
